PLAKADIVA – THE FIRST VIRTUAL AWARD-SHOW FOR OUT OF HOME

The virtual PlakaDiva leads through the content of the show, awards the prizes and welcomes the guests as an avatar.

To bring her to life and make her the main character of the virtual
the virtual show, she had to be moved from her head to her feet
onto her feet and then animated.

The global covid-19 pandemic takes a massive influence on the realization of tv and video productions. It also implies award shows. That’s why we have created a virtual awards ceremony as a contemporary solution. We bring the PlakaDiva Award to life by staging the PlakaDiva as a virtual anchorwoman.
 
Our Idea: The virtual PlakaDiva guides through the content of the show, awards the prizes and welcomes guests as an avatar.

The technology we used in this case is motion capturing for the shape and movement of the body and face tracking for the face expressions of the avatar.

According to the real presenter acting with her individual movement, posture, facial expressions and voice the virtual Diva represents a very personal character with human authenticity.

The one thing that was missing was a corresponding stage. We developed a whole city with urban canyons, out-of-home posters and digital screens as a proxy for the real world and a theme for presenting the content parts during the show.
