Pushing the
Limits of
possibilities.

For the VAILLANT exhibition trailer, we teamed up with the agency BUTTER to completely rethink production. The challenge: creating dynamic background transitions from small to large, from minimal to expansive — while integrating a real VAILLANT employee filmed live on set.

The solution: a classic bluescreen shoot combined with AI-generated background transitions. An idea became an image, and an image became a video — precisely matched to the camera movements from the studio shoot. Depending on the scene, different techniques were used: sometimes classic 2D compositing, sometimes the projection of AI-generated backgrounds onto animated 3D geometry.

AI meets Film-
Production

Precision and close technical coordination across all disciplines formed the foundation of this project. From the very beginning, camera movement, lighting, and transition design were carefully aligned with the AI-generated backgrounds, ensuring that virtual and real elements blended together seamlessly. Every shot on set followed this precisely planned workflow, creating the basis for a smooth and cohesive visual experience.

In post-production, we refined the footage with traditional VFX techniques, detailed compositing, sound design, and voice-over. The result is a contemporary production approach that seamlessly combines live-action performances with AI-generated environments, unlocking entirely new possibilities for cinematic storytelling.
