A selfie turns you into a filmstar.
Together with The Y, we developed an AI Selfie-Station forVolkswagen that transformed visitors at the IAA into the stars of their own personalized film – within seconds. A quick selfie, one personality question, and the choice of their dream Volkswagen, that’s all it took for the AI to generate a photorealistic clip.
Visitors could choose between three iconic models:: T-Roc, Golf GTI 50 and the ID. Cross Concept. After selecting their favorite car, they picked their personality type — whether “Rockstar,” “Easy Driver,” or “Car-aoke Icon.” The results were pure entertainment: seeing yourself integrated into the vibrant VW World through cutting-edgeAI.



Entertainment meets Social Media Engagement.
The Selfie Station brought fun and interaction to the Volkswagen booth, letting visitors capture fun moments with the brand. Its playful setup made the experience shareable and social-media-ready, boosting engagement across platforms. By combining entertainment with brand exposure, it connected young and old to VW in an entertaining way.


HOW WE MASTERED
TECHNICAL DEMANDS
Our project was an exciting balancing act between creativity and technology. We made sure every detail perfectly aligned with the VW brand while fully complying with the strict TISAX security standards. This meant that publicly available cloud applications were not an option for us.
So, we developed our own AI pipeline – built for maximum performance and data security. Within a fully enclosed local rendering environment, our production pipeline ran smoothly and delivered Full HD renderings directly on-site.
In the fast-moving world of AI, we continuously found new ways to keep our workflows innovative and up to date with the latest standards. This allowed us to complete the project at a technically outstanding level and with exceptional quality – a true team effort we’re incredibly proud of.
